Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and Book Ambassadors

Thank you to everyone who attended the January Book Brigade Meeting and Day of Service. Twelve volunteers joined Monday, January 20 to label approximately 3,500 Books. Volunteers exhausted all of the Book Brigade labels that were available. New labels featuring BBB4E sponsors Cleveland Cliffs and Tri-State Automation have been printed and will go into the next 5,000 books.

Over 1,135 books were donated by a book drive organized at the East Chicago Cleveland Cliffs. At February’s Book Brigade Ambassadors meeting ,readers discussed Read Across the Region and other upcoming projects. The next meeting will be at Merge 5920 Hohman Ave. Hammond on March 11, 5:30 pm.

Read Across the Region begins Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Washington Elementary in East Chicago!
