Donate to a student in need by pledging your instrument!

We know there are thousands of musical instruments that are gathering dust in closets and garages everywhere.

When you donate an instrument to Books, Brushes & Bands for Education, you help ensure that students or programs in need can enjoy the gift of music.

Your donation is tax-deductible for the value of the instrument.

 

Instruments we accept:

  • All Woodwind Instruments including piccolo, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone (any), oboe, and bassoon.

  • All Symphonic or Marching Brass Instruments including trumpet, mellophone, French horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium, tuba, and sousaphone.

  • All Symphonic and Acoustic String Instruments including bass, violin, viola, cello, and double bass.

  • All Symphonic or Marching Percussion including snare, bass, tenors, cymbals, drums sets, bell kits, xylophone, marimba, vibraphone, etc.

  • Professional Level Keyboards, Electronic Pianos, Synthesizers, and Accessories including PA, Mixing, Recording, Amps, etc.

Instruments we DO NOT accept:

  • Acoustic Grand or Upright Pianos of any size or condition.

  • Home or Professional-grade Organs of any type.

  • Bag Pipes and Accordions.

  • Any “Novelty” Instrument

  • Any Instrument that is in extremely poor condition and not able to be repaired

  • Electric String Instruments

How to get your instrument(s) to us?

If you’re in the Chicagoland area, you may drop off your instrument(s) or request pickup. Instruments can be dropped off at our office by appointment (219) 932.3232. We are located at 5920 Hohman Avenue, Hammond, IN 46320.

We also accept shipping the instrument to us! Choose any trackable method of shipping and pay the cost to ship. Whenever possible, this helps us keep our expenses lower meaning we can help more musicians!

We understand that not everyone has an instrument that they can donate. All of our instruments need maintenance every year to ensure that our students are playing on high-quality instruments.
