Midwest Youth Choir

Our Midwest Youth Choir (MYC) provides high-quality instruction to students ages 5-18 throughout Northwest Indiana and Illinois.

Through learning how to read and understand musical compositions, students perform a musical repertoire that includes traditional and contemporary pieces in a variety of languages.

There is no experience necessary to participate.

Choir Registration

Choir will meet on Monday evenings in Hammond between October 2026 and May 2027. The full choir session is 24 weeks, with 9 weeks in the Fall semester and 15 weeks in the Spring semester.

Tuition: $250 for the whole school year.

$155 for students enrolled in January-May

Material Fee: $25.00 paid upon registration.

Midwest Youth Choir Level 1

Students ages 5-7 | Mondays, tentatively at 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Students learn to sing properly with correct diction and music theory for their level. Some are building their vocabularies, which helps build confidence to sing and present themselves on and off stage. Along with choral skills, students strengthen their early reading, social, and attention skills.

Midwest Youth Choir Level 2

Students ages 8-17 | Mondays, tentatively at 6:30-7:30 p.m.

MYC Level 2 offers continued music education and unique performance experiences. The Choir Level 2 develops students' character, performance skills, and professionalism. This group of students is invited to perform for a number of community events throughout Northwest Indiana.

Community Performances

The Midwest Youth Choir level 2 is available for performances at local community events and businesses.

Previous performances include the Get Out the Vote Rally 2018, Festival of the Lakes with Foreigner, St. Joseph Church Native American Pow Wow and more.
