BBB4E AWARDED LEGACY FOUNDATION GRANT TO LAUNCH 25th BIRTHDAY CAMPAIGN
Press Release: Immediate Release June 1, 2025
Ian Brundige BBB4E Communication Manager, Give@BBB4E.org - 219-218-3029
Books, Brushes and Bands for Education (BBB4E) has been awarded a transforming Lake County grant from the Legacy Foundation. The BBB4E Board of Directors, staff, and students appreciate the continued support from Lake County’s community foundation, especially as other funding sources become reduced.
This $10,000 Legacy Foundation grant will be used for strategic planning and to amplify BBB4E’s impact across NWI. Board President and founder, Michelle Golden, has devoted her time as an artist and administrator, nurturing the organization's range of programs. After 25 Years of Making, we continue to thank our community for their financial support and hours of volunteerism.
The Strategic Marketing and Development grant marks an important step at a pivotal time in our history. On September 12, 2025, BBB4E will celebrate 25 years of community arts education programs. While this is an exciting milestone, the need for accessible arts for families in Northwest Indiana (NWI) remains a pressing issue. BBB4E continues to strive towards our mission to empower youth and families to become lifelong learners through exposure to engaging experiences in literary, visual, and musical arts.
Through the In the Making Benefit and campaign, BBB4E aims to raise $100K to support staff growth. By creating full-time positions, BBB4E will be able to continue expanding its program offerings and better support the families and communities it serves. Sponsorships for the 25th Birthday are now available; contact Ian at give@bbb4e.org for more information. Make your monthly commitment and join the Spotlight Society for special access to BBB4E’s anniversary celebrations.
All BBB4E families, alumni, volunteers, and the public are invited to the BBB4E Block Party, Tuesday, September 9, at the Merge Building (5920 Hohman Ave., Hammond, IN). Leading up to the block party, BBB4E will distribute free books throughout the summer. Stop by Books in the Park or a BBB4E Community Day at a park near you.
