Dear Friends: A message from BBB4E Founder, Michelle Golden

Dear Friends,

With great appreciation, I personally thank each of you for attending our 20th Spring Concert. Our very first music concert was performed at the Towle Theater in Downtown Hammond. The Hammond city-wide choir presented students from the all of 16 public Hammond elementary schools in 2003.

Slowly over time, the music programs evolved and now invite students from any zip code and multiple schools in Northwest Indiana and the south suburbs of Illinois. No auditions are required. We are proud to say our student body is now more inclusive and diverse. The BBB4E Midwest Youth Music Programs have provided a variety of performance opportunities over the years. Working hard continuously. Building skills every day by practicing at home and coming to rehearsals prepared.

As a nonprofit organization, much is expected of us by our supporters who make our work possible. Many of them are listed in this program. Please thank them; without their financial investment, BBB4E would not exist.

We take what we do very seriously.

With the enormous change that all of us have encountered in our lives in the last few years, it is with extreme gratitude to so many that BBB4E is fortunate to continue its work. Continues. Continues to be a community organization who cares deeply about providing educational opportunities for youth. In the last 23 years, thousands of students have experienced a wide variety of weekly music classes, workshops, exhibitions, and performances in the literary, visual and musical arts.

Together, we have planted many seeds. Now, is the time for growth. There are thousands more to meet, engage, and prepare for a variety of opportunities yet to come our way. Let’s continuously prepare. When opportunity comes along, then, we can gladly accept it.

Ongoing, consistent participation in the arts prepares students for life. Building student self-confidence and presentation skills develops a shared understanding. One that creates a more patient and compassionate world. A world we all desire. Creativity helps to develop meaningful relationships and connections in the world. We are better together.

Let’s not keep BBB4E a secret. Help us by sharing our information. Encourage others to join us. Join us for our summer choir camp.

All the best for a safe and creative summer,

Michelle Golden, President
