From the Midwest Youth Choir to Hit TV Show: Aminah Nieves

 Congratulations to Aminah Nieves, BBB4E choir alumni, for her performance in the television drama “1923.” The “Yellowstone” spinoff series stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren on Paramount+. 

Aminah, who was born and raised in Hammond, participated in the premiere year of the Midwest Youth Choir, at the time it was only the Hammond City-wide Elementary Choir.

In 2004, Aminah Nieves attended Jefferson Elementary School and participated in Books, Brushes & Bands for Education’s City-Wide Elementary Choir.

Now, BBB4E serves students ages 5-18 from any zip code. Singers form two age groups in the vocal program. It is exciting to watch our alumni succeed in any field, especially those connected to art and performance. For many, the MYC provides a foundation of confidence and respect that will support their future endeavors. We are so proud of Aminah and are looking forward to what she does in the future.
